1. Scope
This specification defines the requirements for use of barrier systems employing cables to provide permanent physical protection against vehicular threats to the passive portions of the perimeter surrounding an asset determined to be at high risk to terrorist attack. Minimum requirements are provided for choosing a certified system proven by test to meet the appropriate rating, for selecting an experienced and barrier system manufacturer and barrier installation contractor, and for installing the crash-rated system in a manner that ensures consistency with the test certified design.
