Work Item: ASTM WK35585 - New Practice for Data Collection and Resolving Test Result Differences Between Buyer and Seller.

Developed by Subcommittee: D04.94 | Committee D04 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

The purpose of this Standard Practice is to provide procedures including: documentation to determine acceptable quality material, document sample chain of custody, determine whether data comes from the same population, determine differences between sets of data, determine assignable cause(s) for differences between test results. The goal of this Standard Practice is to provide a guide for documentation of samples used for quality acceptance and determining if assignable causes are responsible for differences in test results. There are many procedures published for dispute resolution, but there is not a guide for documentation of sample collection and procedures needed to analyze and then determine assignable causes for differences in test results between buyer and seller.
