1. Scope
1.1 This specification covers requirements for the compound and physical characteristics of cork floor tile. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units and are provided for information only. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
Cork flooring has been on the market for a number of years. It is considered a resilient floor covering and like most other resilient floor coverings (VCT, sheet vinyl, linoleum, rubber)needs to have a specification.
