Biotechnology Standards

ASTM's biotechnology standards are instrumental in the study of materials important in the field of biotechnology. These materials include particulate wood fuels and biomass. Several properties of these materials like density, moisture content, ash content, carbohydrate content, and acid-insoluble residue content are studied. These biotechnology standards also help in the design and performance evaluation of fuel ethanol manufacturing facilities and biopharmaceutical facilities. The biotechnology standards also help understand the possible applications of proteins, DNA, RNA, biomolecules, viruses, fungi, and bacteria in biotechnology research.
