Withdrawn Rationale:
This consumer safety specification establishes design requirements for corner posts of full-size and non-full-size baby cribs to minimize the potential for strangulation of infants and young children who may attempt to climb out of the crib. It also provides information in the instructions furnished with cribs of the potential hazard to children wearing pacifiers, necklaces, or any other items around their necks.
Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee F15 on Consumer Products, this consumer safety specification was withdrawn in January 2009 in accordance with section 10.5.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.
