Withdrawn Rationale:

This specification covers the materials, functional dimensions, and tolerances for single piece, metallic proximal femoral endoprosthesis.

This specification was withdrawn in June 2005 because Specification F 2033 covers total hip joint bearing surfaces including the hip endoprosthesis, and the scope of Specification F 2068 covers hemi-arthroplasty. This specification is redundant after the newer specifications were approved.

1.1 This specification covers the materials, functional dimensions, and tolerances for single piece, metallic proximal femoral endoprosthesis.

1.2 In recognition of many broad and varied uses of such prostheses, many options are included. A variety, but not necessarily all, of the options are illustrated in Fig. 1.

1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
