This specification covers two grades of solid caustic potash as follows: Type I, 85 % potassium hydroxide; and Type II, 90 % potassium hydroxide. Sampled specimens shall be tested and conform accordingly to chemical requirements as to total alkalinity of KOH, and specified maximum compositions for K₂CO₃, KCl, and Fe.
