Abstract
This specification covers 2-methoxyethanol. 2-methoxyethanol shall conform to the requirements specified for the following: (1) apparent specific gravity, (2) Pt-Co scale color, (3) distillation range defined by the initial boiling point and dry point, (4) water content, and (5) acidity (free acid as acetic acid). The sampling and test methods to determine conformance to the specified properties are given.

1. Scope
1.1 This specification covers 2-methoxyethanol.
1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
1.3 The following applies to all specified limits in this standard; for purposes of determining conformance with this standard, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded off "to the nearest unit" in the last right-hand digit used in expressing the specification limit, in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E 29.
