    Withdrawn Rationale:

    This test method covers the determination of the moisture content in wood and is an alternative procedure for the oven drying method given in Sections 124 to 127 of Methods D 143. Its use is required when the wood contains volatile oils or oil preservative. The test method also covers the determination of the quantity of creosote or creosote-base preservative in treated wood.

    Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D07 on Wood, this test method was withdrawn without replacement in July 2006.

    1. Scope

    1.1 This test method covers the determination of the moisture content in wood and is an alternative procedure for the oven drying method given in Sections 124 to 127 of Methods D143. Its use is required when the wood contains volatile oils or oil preservative. The test method also covers the determination of the quantity of creosote or creosote-base preservative in treated wood.
