Withdrawn Rationale:
This practice covers a procedure to simulate the aging process of cellulosic loose-fill insulation by subjecting it to controlled laboratory conditions of temperature and humidity so that the insulation will be further evaluated, particularly for critical radiant flux characteristics.
Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee C16 on Thermal insulation, this practice was withdrawn in January 2013 in accordance with section 10.5.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.
1. Scope
1.1 This practice covers a procedure to simulate the aging process of cellulosic loose-fill insulation by subjecting it to controlled laboratory conditions of temperature and humidity so that the insulation will be further evaluated, particularly for critical radiant flux characteristics.
1.2 It is not the intent of this practice to establish aging conditions that represent all possible exposures.
1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory requirements prior to use.
