    About the Event

    A Workshop on Remote Equipment Design for Hot Cell Facilities will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Sponsored by ASTM Committee C26.14 on Remote Systems, the workshop will be held at the Snow King Resort & Grand View Lodge in Jackson Hole, WY, in conjunction with the C26 standards development meetings of the committee.

    Objective
    This workshop will be the opportunity for designers, engineers, and scientists to update their knowledge on designing equipment for remote operation in hot cells and on ASTM standards related to the design of equipment used in remotely operated facilities. Presentations will focus on hot cell shielding windows, design considerations for remote handling equipment, hot cell viewing systems and radiation hardened cameras, remote handling systems, hot cell measuring equipment, mechanical drive systems used in hot cells, hot cell lighting, and specialized support equipment and fastening systems used in remote applications.

    The workshop is in conjunction with the C26.14 ASTM subcommittee meeting on Tuesday, June 10.

    Students – A student's fee is waived, provided that he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID. The waived fee includes admission to the technical sessions only.

    All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the workshop. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at workshop.

    Continuing Education Units

    Workshop attendees interested in receiving 0.7 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) should complete a CEU application form at the adjournment of the workshop, and then submit it to the ASTM staff member on site. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the workshop.
