|Two new leadership positions have been developed at ASTM Headquarters as part of the staff reorganization SN first reported in the July issue.
DEREK FRANCO has joined ASTM as director, Customer Relations and Sales in the Corporate Marketing and Development Department in the Publications and Marketing Division. In this new position, he will be responsible for strategic development in directing the customer relations department, while providing marketing, sales and general organizational support. Franco comes from Aerosoles Headquarters in Edison, N.J., where he served as director of Catalog Contact Operations responsible for strategic development, marketing and sales support for the Catalog Contact Center. He also served as Consumer Response Information Center Operations manager for Campbell Soup Company World Headquarters in Camden, N.J. At Airborne Express, Franco served in a variety of positions related to customer service managementin Atlanta, Ga., as an analyst, Boston, Mass., as supervisor, and New York, N.Y., as an area manager.
DAVID VON GLAHN has joined ASTM as director of Product Development and Promotion in the Publications and Marketing Division. In this new position, von Glahn will be responsible for directing ASTMs marketing program for the development, management, and promotion of new and existing publications in both print and electronic formats. Of particular importance is the development of new content and new electronic products. Von Glahn has an extensive background in the publishing industry, with experience in management, marketing, product development, and direct mail for online subscription services, manuals, loose-leaf publications, journals, and newsletters. He previously worked at Aspen Publishers in New York as general manager for their IFI CLAIMS Patent Services Division, where he was responsible for the development of new online delivery platforms and database product offerings. Prior to Aspen, von Glahn worked as vice president, Marketing and Sales, for Oceana Publishing Inc., an international legal publisher. He has also held various product development and marketing positions at the RIA Group, John Wiley, and Prentice Hall. //
