Emergency Operations Center

ASTM International Committee E54 on Homeland Security Applications is currently developing a series of proposed standards on emergency operations centers. The first of these standards, E2668, Guide for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Development, has now been approved.

E2668 is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee E54.02 on Emergency Preparedness Training and Procedures.

“E2668 provides common sense, step-by-step procedures for designing an emergency operations center,” says Glenn Wisbey, logistics operations branch manager, North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. Emergency managers, business continuity managers, support staff and fiscal officers will all use E2668.
