The Insulation Edge

“The Insulation Edge” (for article, please click here) is an interesting article and it speaks well of Committee C16 on Thermal Insulation. However, the picture leads one to believe that house wrap is insulation. In fact, the picture of the house does not show a single insulation product inside or outside of the structure.

I would like to believe that a technical organization of the stature of ASTM could at least include a graphic accurately depicting insulation. It could have been a perfect opportunity to show three or four different types of insulation in use and to have mentioned more than fiberglass and vacuum panels in the article. In order to build and sustain organizations it is critical that we continually emphasize inclusiveness rather than exclusiveness.
