KURT STRAUSS, who has been the sole instructor of the highly successful
ASTM Technical and Professional Training Course on Aviation Fuels
for 14 years, will retire from teaching the course as of his last
class, to be held this month at ASTM Headquarters. Strauss has
taught the course over 70 times, traveling around the world, from
the United States to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Over those
14 years Strauss encountered some touchy political situations,
from the Gulf War to riots in Venezuela, but taught the courses
in any event. The Society, and the Technical and Professional
Training department in particular, is grateful for Strauss’ commitment
to the course and will miss his enthusiastic participation in
the program. The class will continue to be taught around the world
by a new instructor.
