A new task group, Self-Closing, Self-Latching Gate Mechanisms, has formed in Subcommittee F14.10 on Specific Applications, part of Committee F14 on Fences. The group welcomes volunteers to create standards that promote optimum manufacture, design, testing, and performance of these devices.

“The task group will address self-closing, self-latching gate hardware as they relate to the proposed drafts for play area fencing, ball-field fencing, and ASTM F 1908, Standard Guide for Fences for Residential Outdoor Swimming Pools, Hot Tubs, and Spas,” says Jane Miner, regional sales manager, D&D Technologies, Tyrone, Ga., and chair of the new task group.
