|Committee D14 Invites Stakeholders to Develop Adhesive Standards
ASTM Committee D14 on Adhesives seeks adhesives professionals to develop standards with members of Subcommittee D14.10 on Working Properties.
Task Group D14.10.02 will develop a Standard 90° Peel Test Method to evaluate the bond between adhesive and floor covering and ultimately improve end products. The task group seeks adhesive manufactures, installers and manufacturers of flexible carpet and vinyl floor coverings, testers, and other interested parties. Task Group D14.10.06 will revise all sections of ASTM D 1084, Standard Test Methods for Viscosity of Adhesives, to upgrade adhesive quality-control processes. The group invites manufactures of adhesives and viscometers for the task group, which is led by William Stegeman, the secretary of Committee D14 and chairman of Subcommittee D14.10. Task Group D14.10.09 will develop a Freeze-Thaw Stability Test to improve the quality of adhesive products. The task group welcomes manufacturers of adhesives; installers of flexible floor coverings, and other interested parties for this activity. Press and Millhouse also lead Task Group D14.10.10, which will draft a Standard Practice for Storage Stability to establish uniform stability testing for adhesives and improve end products.
