| ASTM International Seeks Wide Variety of Laboratories for Sports-Related
Testing
ASTM Subcommittee F08.80 on Test Methods and Laboratory Procedures
seeks laboratories to perform a wide variety of sports-related
tests. Testing will support standards developed by ASTM Committee
F08 on Sports Equipment and Facilities.
A wide variety of labs are sought. Testing to be done includes:
Impact;
Rubber/plastics;
Soil;
Facilityi.e., air quality and acoustical;
Surfacei.e., slip and abrasion resistance; and
Fatigue.
Testers will help to verify and standardize procedures devised
for F08 standards, by:
Setting standard test conditions and tolerances;
Performing proficiency testing;
Performing round-robin testing for precision and bias testing
when their standards come up for review; and
Evaluating new test methods to determine their feasibility and
accuracy.
