Gaskets Topic of April Workshop in Las Vegas

The workshop, “Focus Event II on Finite Element Analysis of Gaskets and Materials for Use as Gaskets,” will be offered on Wed., April 25, Imperial Palace, Las Vegas, Nev., 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by ASTM Committee F03 on Gaskets.

The event is being organized to advance the science of gasketing through the increased production of test standards with greater function and meaning to users of industrial and transportation-related gaskets. It will interest technicians, analysts, engineers, scientists, and those producers, users, and general-interest persons involved with the determination of selection, behavior, and prediction of gaskets.

Presentations will be made by software developers, manufacturers of gaskets and gasket materials, and users in both the industrial and transportation sectors. Deadline for submission of prospective papers with titles and abstracts is March 26.

Interested parties are invited to contact F03 member Mike T. Passarella, President, MTP and Associates, Columbus, Ohio (phone: 614/459-5104). Committee F03 meets April 24-26 in Las Vegas, Nev. For membership or meeting details, contact Staff Manager Jim Olshefsky, ASTM (phone: 610/832-9714). //
