President's Leadership Award
Nominations are being sought for the 2008 ASTM International
President’s Leadership Award.
The ASTM Board of Directors has initiated the President’s
Leadership Award as a way to recognize the accomplishments
of individuals early in their ASTM career. This new award
complements ASTM’s robust awards program by lending special
focus to the efforts and achievements of individuals in their first
five years of service.
Examples of the types of exemplary service that warrant
nomination include: successfully leading a major new activity
(such as the establishment of a new technical committee or
subcommittee), revitalizing a dormant activity, advancing the
global application of ASTM standards, reducing the cycle time of ASTM
standards development, advancing the use of ASTM standards in
regulation, fostering appreciation of ASTM standards among industry
executives, successful academic outreach, etc.
Volunteers are key to the success of ASTM
International. The ASTM President’s Leadership
Award salutes the inspiration and positive
contributions of new volunteers.
