THIS FALL, RUSSIAN MEMBERS OF ASTM COMMITTEE F24 ON AMUSEMENT RIDES traveled to San Diego to report on the effect
of G-forces on the human body to fellow members of an F24 task
group on World Standards for Design and Manufacture of Amusement
Rides. Pictured (l. to r.) are: Jim Seay, Premier Amusement Rides,

Zamperla Rides, Italy; Ben Shelton, Universal Studios, Fla.; Anna

(RAAPA); and Professor Vladimir Barychev, vice chair of Technical
Committee 427 on Amusement Rides and Devices of the Russian Gosstandard.
Task group members from Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands also
attended. The group is collecting input from around the world
as they develop standards that can be applied internationally
to the design and manufacture of amusement rides. //
