Sensory Evaluation Seminar Offered During October Committee Week
A seminar titled Measuring Consumer Perception About Products
During Extended Use Tests, will be held on Oct. 18 at the Hyatt-Regency
Hotel in Phoenix, Ariz., during the meetings of ASTM Committee E18 on Sensory Evaluation of Materials and Products.
A panel of experts will present its research and experience on
the title topic of interest to sensory professionals in companies
that produce food, cosmetics, household, and personal care products,
as well as sensory testing laboratories and their clients.
Speakers include Michele Foley of Frito-Lay, Inc., Dallas, Texas,
Jacqueline Beckley of the U&I Group, Denville, N.J., Hely Tuorila,
professor of Food Science at the University of Helsinki, Finland,
and Zata Vickers, professor of Food Science at the University
of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn.
Following the presentations, the speakers will address questions
from the audience and discuss other issues related to the title
topic. Information gathered at the seminar will be used in a research
proposal being developed by Committee E18 Research Forum members.
