Informational members
have an interest in ASTM International standards and related technical information, but choose not to participate on technical committees.  Informational members are kept abreast of the standards field and desire to receive key information related to standardization issues. Participating members
are individuals who choose to join ASTM International technical committees.They actively develop new standards and revise existing ones. This work is done in a unique professional environment, which draws from the top players in the field who work cooperatively in forwarding their own interests. Through direct participation in the ASTM International standards-writing process, participating members are personally involved in the development of intellectual capital that is on the cutting edge of new trends and technology. Organizational Members
These organizations choose to support the ASTM International voluntary consensus process through the designation of a representative that may choose to participate as an informational or participating member.Organizational members understand the value of ASTM International and what it contributes to industry and to the world through voluntary consensus standards by choosing to provide added funding to the Society.
