Tilton E. Shelburne Memorial Award - Guidelines

    TILTON E. SHELBURNE AWARD

    The Tilton E. Shelburne Award is presented not more frequently than once a year to a current or past member of Committee El7 on Skid Resistance for outstanding work in the field of the committee's activity. The Award, established in 1977, honors the late Dr. Tilton E. Shelburne, past Chairman of the committee.

    RULES GOVERNING THE AWARD

    The Award shall be administered by Subcommittee E17.13 on Awards of Committee E17. The subcommittee consists of three members appointed by the Executive Subcommittee of E17 for staggered three-year terms with the member serving his last term as its Chairman.

    The Subcommittee on Awards shall solicit and consider each year written nominations from committee members and consider the eligibility of the nominees for the award.

    If no nominations are received or if, in the opinion of the Subcommittee on Awards, no nominee is worthy of the award, none shall be given that year. The Subcommittee on Awards shall select the recipient and shall notify the secretary of Committee E17 no later than three months prior to the time of presentation of the name and address of the recipient.

    The secretary of Committee E17 shall advise the Awards Administrator of the Society of its decision two months prior to the time of the presentation. The Subcommittee on Awards shall cooperate with the Secretary of Committee E17 and with the Awards Administrator of the Society in arrangements for securing and presenting the award.

    AWARD TO RECIPIENTS

    The Tilton E. Shelburne Award shall consist of a walnut and bronze plaque with a blue velvet background and photo-etched medallion of Mr. Shelburne.
