JOHN HAAS MEMORIAL AWARD
The John Haas Memorial Award is presented as a formal recognition for an individual's outstanding contribution to the work of ASTM Committee F25 on Shipbuilding. This award has been established in honor of John Haas for his outstanding leadership as one of the founding members of the Committee and whose technical and administrative support has established F25 as a strong growing organization in the field of shipbuilding standards.
FREQUENCY OF THE AWARD
The John Haas Memorial Award will be granted once every two calendar years. If the Awards Committee does not select a deserving recipient within the two-year period, their selection may be deferred to a following year.
BASIS OF THE AWARD
Any or all of the following types of service shall be considered as the basis for the John Haas Memorial Award.
RULES FOR SELECTION
The F25 Awards Task Group, chaired by a member appointed by the F25 Chairman, is responsible for the solicitation and selection of a recipient for this Bi-annual award.
Recommendations may be solicited from the Main Committee Officers, Subcommittee Chairmen, and Vice Chairmen, and other active members.
FORM OF THE AWARD
The Award shall consist of a suitable plaque whose associated costs shall be paid from the Committee F25 fund. The plaque shall contain engraved wording substantially as follows:
