Charles A. Johnson Award - Guidelines
CHARLES A JOHNSON AWARD
This award was established by Committee D27 as a memorial to Charles A. Johnson, to be presented to an active member of Committee D27 who best exemplifies Mr. Johnson's interest and dedication to the activities of the Committee from 1928-1976.
Rules Governing the Award
The award is granted annually to an individual member of Committee D27.
The nominee shall have been active in the committee for a minimum often years and served as a committee or subcommittee officer for at least four years.
A selection committee of at least three members shall be appointed by the Chairman of D27 consisting of any active past Chairman of Committee D27 and such other members as required.
The selection committee shall consider any nominees proposed by the members and review the entire membership annually for deserving nominees.
When appropriate, the selection committee shall present in writing with full background information a single nominee to the Executive Committee for their action. Only one award is presented each year.
Recipients of the ASTM Award of Merit or Honorary Members are not eligible for this award. However, recipients of this award shall not be excluded from committee nomination for any Society Award.
Committee D27 is responsible for payment of the award.
