Virtual Officers' Training
Registration is now open for the Virtual Officers' Training Week, to be held Sept. 21-24. On these dates, ASTM staff will conduct online training modules using WebEx. The training is intended primarily for committee officers, subcommittee chairs, or those who aspire to become officers. Scheduled sessions are: ASTM Online, Balloting and Handling Negative Votes, Officer and Subcommittee Chairman's Duties and Responsibilities, Government Interface and Corporate Outreach, Global Cooperation, Interlaboratory Studies Program (ILS), and the editorial module Developing and Revising a Standard.

ASTM Web Portals
An ASTM portal is a dedicated site that includes a specific collection of ASTM standards and other standards and documents of your choosing. Custom Collection Web portals offer instant online access to a group of ASTM and other standards (tailored by you) to fit the needs of your company or organization. The portal allows multiple users to link between standards, add notes or attachments for others to view, and make side-by-side comparisons of redlined standards. Click here to view an online demo about ASTM Web portals.

Revisions to Regulations, Form and Style
See the latest Rules&Regs column in the July/August issue of Standardization News for information about the recent changes to Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees and Form and Style for ASTM Standards that were approved at the April board of directors meeting.

Professor of the Year
Candidates for the ASTM Professor of the Year Award include professors and instructors at accredited universities worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding use of ASTM standards in their teaching. DID YOU KNOW? . . . Staycation Standards

With many families choosing home-based vacations (also known as “staycations”) during these tough economic times, it is important to remember safety first, even if you are not traveling far from home. There are ASTM standards for a variety of items used for outdoor summer fun, whether you are camping in your own backyard or relaxing on your favorite lawn furniture. Check with Committee F15 for standards for outdoor equipment like home playgrounds, trampolines, inflatable amusement devices and portable pools. For those on the go, Committee F08 has you covered with safety standards for bicycles, scooters, skateboards, fun karts and more.
