Single Cylinder Engine Tests for Evaluating the Performance of Crankcase Lubricants: Part IV: Labeco L-38 Test Method
Those interested in crankcase oil specifications will find this publication useful on a day to day basis. The test method I used to determine the effect of lubricating oil on ring sticking, ring and cylinder wear and accumulation of piston deposits. It is designed to relate to high speed, supercharged diesel engine operation, and in particular to the detergency characteristics and anti-wear properties of diesel crankcase lubricating oils.
