The Symposium was sponsored by Subcommittee 9 on Dynamic Properties of Soils, of Committee D18. Chairman of the Symposium was E. T. Selig, associate professor of engineering and applied sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo. Co-chairman was Delon Hampton, professor of civil engineering, Howard University.
