Abstract

The concept, fundamental design principles, testing, and application considerations of structural sealant glazing are covered. These describe how certain sealants can be used structurally in transferring wind loads from glass to structural elements as well as for joint weather seals. This permits elimination of the traditional metal stop for glass retention where less metal or an all-glass appearance is desired.
