Abstract

By examining a number of damage theories, this paper demonstrates the importance of a rather large number of parameters in determining internal damage thresholds under laser radiation. In particular, the pulseduration dependence of several damage theories is considered to illustrate how different mechanisms may dominate under differing operating conditions.
