D 1498 - 59 Standard Method of Test for Oxidation-Reduction Potential of Industrial Water

Source

This method describes the apparatus and procedure for the electrometric measurement of oxidation-reduction potentials of industrial water. It does not deal with the manner in which the solutions are prepared, the theoretical interpretation of the oxidation-reduction potential, or the establishment of a standard oxidation-reduction potential for any given system. It is applicable to all types of industrial water at temperatures below 38 C. It is particularly valuable where oxidation or reduction are pertinent properties, as in chlorinated waters.
