Abstract

(a) This method covers a non-referee colorimetric procedure for the determination of total sulfides, dissolved sulfides, and hydrogen sulfide in industrial water and industrial waste water. (b) The method may be applied to the analysis of industrial waste water containing sulfide ion concentrations from 0.1 to 20 ppm. Greater concentrations of sulfide ion may result in color inhibition. However, this method may be applied to the analysis of water containing more than 20 ppm of sulfide ion by diluting the sample and correcting the final results to compensate for such dilution.
