Bibliographical Abstracts on Redeposition of Soil on Cotton Fabric

Source

A task committee for the purpose of developing a method for measurement of deposition of soil onto fabric from aqueous detergent systems (laundering) was appointed in 1953 by A. M. Schwartz, chairman of Subcommittee T-5 of ASTM Committee D-12 on Soaps and Other Detergents. The first action of this task committee was to review the past literature to obtain information necessary for consolidation or revision of the best in current redeposition methods or for the development of a new method. It was believed that publication of a bibliography covering this literature review would be of benefit to detergent workers, particularly to those just entering the field, and this publication has resulted. The bibliography is patterned after “Metal Cleaning Bibliographical Abstracts.” The references, which are numbered consecutively, are listed by year and then by author. The abstracts in many cases were prepared from the original article and are slanted generally towards giving an indication of the contents that are pertinent to testing methods and theories. Reference is made to the abstract appearing in “Chemical Abstracts” whereever possible.
