Alternate-Immersion and Water-Line Tests

Source

Corrosion phenomena are classified according to cause and result. The desirability of incorporating the causes and forms of corrosion in corrosion tests is pointed out. Details of the alternate-immersion and water-line tests are given and it is shown that all known forms of corrosion are obtained. The factors influencing the accuracy of the tests are discussed. Actual test data are presented by way of illustration, and the importance of proper interpretation of test results is stressed.
