Abstract

Over the years there have been many discussions of the technique and significance of the impact test, including several formal symposia. The last Impact Symposium was held in 1938. Much technical development since that time has been attributed to information contained in those symposium papers. Now seventeen years later another Impact Symposium steps into a field that is already brimming with interest and activity. Some phases of this field carry the designation “Environmental Testing.”
