Radiography and Autoradiography by Photoelectrons

Source

Two separate techniques are described for the examination of microstructures. The first technique deals with the absorption of photoelectrons generated from lead sheet by X-rays in thin slices or films of material. The second technique depends on the difference in the efficiency of photoelectron production by materials of different atomic number. It permits the examination of thin surface layers a few thousandths of an inch deep, and requires the preparation of only one surface. It supplements the microscopic and microradiographic techniques.
