Gas Chromatographic Analysis of Aqueous Solutions

Source

Gas chromatographic principles and recent applications to the determination of low levels of inorganic and organic substances in aqueous solutions are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the use of flame-ionization detection and gas-liquid chromatography. Applications to situations requiring rapid, accurate determination of dilute aqueous solutions are becoming more important in water treatment and quality control. Suggestions are made for extending the procedures to supplement sensory panel testing, monitoring water intake quality, providing an early warning of slug discharges at water plant intakes, and elucidating biological and chemical processes.
