Handling and Analysis of Routine Water Samples in Volume

Source

The need for analyzing more than 59,000 water samples annually as part of water treatment control in thousands of systems has led to the development of an efficient analytical laboratory operation. To attain the lowest costs consistent with the accuracy required, some of the principles of mass production have been adapted to the laboratory facilities and operations. This paper describes the sample handling procedures, physical layout, and specialized equipment used. It also discusses the techniques used to ensure necessary standards of accuracy.
