Effects of Subatmospheric Temperatures on the Properties of Non-Ferrous Metals

Source

The subject assigned to me for consideration at this Symposium may be covered, I believe, in a very simple and rather brief statement. I do not believe that it requires any lengthy presentation of data, for the reason that such data have been well prepared already for all who may be interested. The Joint Research Committee on the Effect of Temperature on the Properties of Metals has summarized data on the effect of low or subatmospheric temperatures on the properties of metals on several occasions. In the 1931 Symposium at Chicago, there was included an excellent review on this subject by H. W. Russell of Battelle Memorial Institute, and here one may find a great deal of information on the effect of low temperatures on the nonferrous metals and alloys.
