View License Agreement S-816 is a precipitation-hardening alloy designed for service in the 1200 to 1500 F temperature range. Consequently, its optimum properties are obtained by a duplex heat treatment consisting of a high temperature or solution treatment followed by rapid cooling plus aging in the range of 1400 to 1500 F. Working in the temperature range of 1000 to 1500 F (often called hot-cold-working) frequently used to give additional strength to other high-temperature alloys is neither required nor recommended for S-816. | ||
