View License Agreement Bar specimen exposures of 21 different standard stainless-steel alloys were examined after a 20-yr period. Effects of atmosphere, heat treatment, composition, and surface finish were studied. Two environments were used, mild industrial at Middletown, Ohio and marine at Kure Beach, N.C. Visual appearance ratings, weight-loss data, and mechanical properties before and after exposure are presented in tabular and graphical form for most of the alloys. | ||
