The Preparation of Resins for Microscopical Examination by Reflected Light

Source

The wide variety of industrial and experimental resins which have been studied in our laboratory during the past five years has prompted a continuing search for improved methods and media for mounting such materials for micro-scopical examination. The preparatory techniques described were designed to accomodate specimens exhibiting extreme variations in hardness, as well as variations in adhesive qualities, chemical resistance, and wettability. The use of various plastic and resin formulations as mounting media will also be discussed.
