Abstract

In a modern laboratory where the metallographer is expected to utilize his time most efficiently, the time-consuming hand-polishing procedures are good candidates for automation. One of the first and most promising efforts in this direction was the development of vibratory polishing by Long and Gray (1,2) and Krill (3).
