Abstract

Field experiments to determine dynamic soil characteristics, obtained either by sinusoidal or by impact excitation, yielded almost identical values. The results coincide rather closely with previously published theoretical considerations. The reasons for some inconsistencies, not accountable for at earlier tests, are discussed.
