Correlation of Atterberg Limits with Geology of Deep Cores from Subsidence Areas in California

Source

As part of a program of research on the phenomena of subsidence, about 300 “undisturbed” samples from depths of less than 100 ft to about 2000 ft were obtained by core drilling in the San Joaquin Valley, Calif. The investigation was conducted cooperatively by the U. S. Geological Survey, the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, and the California Department of Water Resources.
