Abstract

(a) Methods are presented herein for measuring the following optical properties of industrial water: Sections Light Transmittance, T 4 to 8 Absorbance (Optical Density) log b/T. 9 to 12 Turbidity: Jackson Candle Turbidity 13 to 15 Nephelometric Turbidity 16 to 18 Absolute Turbidity 19 to 22 Geometric Light-Scattering Pattern 23 to 25 (b) The optical properties of a liquid are interrelated and, wherever possible, the interrelationship is indicated.
