(a) These methods cover the determination of ammonia and ammonium ions present in industrial water and industrial waste water. Two methods are given, as follows: Section Referee Method (Distillation Method) 6 to 12 Non-Referee Method (Direct Nesslerization Method) 13 to 21 (b) The Referee Method is applicable to all types of industrial water, including industrial waste water, for the determination of ammonia concentrations usually encountered in such waters. The Non-Referee Method may be used for the rapid routine determination of ammonia in such waters. In both methods, all determinations should be carried out at room temperature (25 to 30 C).
