Abstract

This method covers the colorimetric determination in industrial waters and industrial waste waters of manganese with valences of seven or less. It does not determine the form in which the manganese originally was present. The method is applicable to any concentration of manganese apt to be encountered in industrial water or industrial waste water. The visual comparison procedure is best suited to the range of 0 to 1 ppm of manganese.
