Unalloyed Titanium Sheet is Improving

Source

A titanium industry was born and raised in the past ten years largely by the efforts of the Defense Department in supporting work to overcome manufacturing deficiencies, in supporting work to improve engineering properties, and in urging consumers to greater usage. In some quarters consumer hesitancy has resulted from reputed nonuniformity in the properties of the material. Since the Douglas Aircraft Co. has now used 13,500 sheets of one titanium grade and has tested 10,000 of these sheets, it seems appropriate to report the results of these tests and indicate the degree of improvement accomplished by the industry.
